Zomato is not merging with rival Swiggy, Zomato rules out any merger talks

Food delivery company Zomator denies any report about its merger with the rival Swiggy.  The Bengaluru-based Swiggy and Gurugram-based Zomato is the major player in the food delivery market in India. According to the media reports Zomato spokesperson denies the merger of two companies.

Zomato is one of the big players in food delivery business and currently company is delivering 1.3 million orders a day from 150,000 restaurants in India.

Earlier there has been reports about the merger of these two companies but not its clear that there is no such thing.

There have been media reports about the merger talks between these two companies back in 2017. Swiggy, however refused on this.

Amazon is going to enter into the food delivery market in India in coming time, according to the reports company is gearing up to launch its own online food delivery section for the consumers of Indian market. Amazon already has a robust workforce in the country as company is into online sales of products. Company will hire more delivery partners to beat the existing competition in the market.

Amazon is expected to give tough competition to the existing players in this market. According to Prabhu Ram, Head-Industry Intelligence Group (IIG), CMR, the food delivery business is very tough and there is huge competition in the market.
